I'd guess that the difference between the two parts is replacements from accident damage, they probably got thwacked by someone not looking where they were going, and was cheaper to just unbolt the damaged bits and fit a later new one made to a "more profit-friendly" standard part...

watch the wires when you put it back they can hit the blades, then you can take the cover on and off five times trying to figure out whats making the new noise haha

I’m in the middle of working on my 1966 F250 and when I started I told myself I was only going to fix the rust out around the cab and rain gutters and just replace the windshield and the seal. Well once I started I kept fixing everything I ran into. I think it’s called the domino effect. LOL!

My 1966 f250 had the dum dum sealer between the fender and the fender apron. Also, at the end of the front fenders where they meet the door there was a foam seal/pad that was attached on the inside of the fender where it mounts against the cab.

What steering wheel is that on your truck? I’d like to put one like that on my truck.

On my 1966 ford truck I had to cut out around the whole roof and remove the drip rails. I had to weld in new metal and make the drip rails, even the front drip rail. It was a beetch! I wish theyreproduced the roof skin for these trucks. It’s a common rust out area.

Appreciate the post I unfortunately had that exact tamper but due to situation had to put in a roll-off. Now I know it's potential (intimidating even though didn't run) and why it was so hard to move around (200 lbs in that somewhat compact size)

Back then when that truck was made people bought trucks strictly for work and not like today’s cowboy Cadillacs.

On my 1966 f250 it had that sealer between the fender and the inner fender where they bolt together. In fact the repair manual says that. I used that black dum dum strip sealer on mine.
